Yesod Chai Israel is a full spectrum gap year program that combines thought provoking Torah study, exciting trips, enriching volunteer work and out of the box learning experiences in a comfortable Jewish atmosphere. Our schedule caters to the diverse interests of today’s teenagers. From Jewish Philosophy to rappelling down waterfalls and from interactive Gemora classes to snorkeling in the Red Sea, you will see Torah learning in a new light and experience Israel like never before.
Our day starts off with a full morning seder consisting of small, powerful and interactive classes. This is also where the students are able to ask their own questions about all aspects of life and Judaism and get satisfying answers. With a high rebbeim to student ratio we optimize our students learning through formal and informal teaching styles based upon individual needs.
Afternoons are a diverse combination of classes, speakers, outings, sports, chessed, out of the box learning experiences, as well as our famous Sunday FunDay, making YCI the most unique yeshiva gap year program by giving the students a large variety of out of the classroom experiences. We also have weekly Thursday trips where we will explore the country.
Night Seder is not just another class here at YCI, with a relaxed ambiance and light refreshments students are able to come to night seder and “chill” with their rebbeim. This atmosphere draws the students to come in and end off their day in a powerful way.
At YCI we combine learning, trips and an accepting environment to give our students the opportunity to ignite their passion for Judaism.
The most powerful aspect of our program is the relationship that our rebbeim build with their students. Our staff of highly experienced and vibrant rebbeim create an exciting atmosphere that inspires our students both inside and outside of the classroom. From playing sports to learning Torah and even well into the night our staff is using every opportunity to build lifelong bonds with our students. Most of our rebbeim live within close walking distance to the yeshiva making their homes an extension of the campus where the students are always welcome like family.
YCI is located on the Ohr Somayach campus in the Maalot Dafna neighborhood in Northern Jerusalem. The campus is centrally located near restaurants, major shopping areas and public transportation. We are just a short walk to the Old City and to Jerusalem's city center.
Our Campus has a dining hall serving three meals a day, beis medrash and classrooms and a student lounge with internet access. Immediately outside our campus there are public parks with basketball courts, a soccer field and open areas for your outdoor enjoyment.
Our students live in residential apartments adjacent to the main campus.
